Happy Friday friends! I was tagged in a post on Instagram to share 21 facts about myself. Being the wordy, chatty gal that I am, I couldn’t squeeze all 21 into the 2,200 character limit that Instagram gives the world. I shared 13 there…but all 21 here! It was weird thinking of things about myself since so much of what I write it about my children, family, and more ‘tip and trick’ based. This was a great exercise in remembering WHO I AM and where I have been…and how do I want the world to see me? Not just as a mama, not just as Holding Moonbeams…but as Hollyce. Okay…

I don’t know about you….but I’m assuming you are like me and have several apps on your phone that you’ve downloaded. Chances are you probably use the same 5-10 in any given week but some are more seasonal….like these: my favorite pregnancy apps! I am so glad I was referred to some of these so wanted too share them with you! None of this is sponsored…but I wanted a quick place for you any preggos out there to have a few resources that I’ve been grateful for this go around. Let’s jump right into it….here are the THREE apps you need when you are expecting. What to Expect Honesty time…

Hudson said MAMA
IT HAPPENED!! Hudson said, “MAMA” for the first time last night. I have been aching to hear those words. Hudson knows I’m mommy…I don’t need verbal words to confirm that….but oh man how sweet that moment was last night! The MMMMM sound is very hard for young children with Down syndrome to create….pursing your lips together and making the vibrating M noise takes a lot of work and coordination (versus DA, BA, GA, etc). I knew this would be a long time coming (Hudson is 3 years old)…and I treasure every time he signs “mommy” since I know that’s the best way he can communicate my…

Journaling/Sharing/Other Random Thoughts
Hey friends! I have not given my blog much love lately…still trying to find that balance of what to share on Instagram/Facebook versus what to share here. I don’t know the answer…but what I do know is that even if I’m cross-posting, that will provide an easy way for me to reference old posts. I’ve struggled with what to share in GENERAL as well…so I’m sharing it here in the hopes I will keep myself accountable and look back in 5 years and remember how silly it was that I was afraid of sharing, even in the midst of global pandemic. Here’s what I posted on Instagram today…. I’m not…

Best Restaurants in Disney World (According to You!)
What’s one thing you think of when ‘Disney World’ comes to mind? Is it Mickey Mouse? That gorgeous castle? The rides? The crowds? The magic? Maybe all of those….but for me, it’s all FOOD! One of my favorite t-shirts I own is a list of #allthesnacks you can get at Disney…Mickey pretzels, Dole Whips, churros, Mickey waffles, candy apples. Because as much as I love the rides at Disney, I REALLY love me a solid Disney snack in between attractions. An area I didn’t know as much about with Disney World was the sit-down dining selections. We’ve had a few good quick service restaurants but had not explored the sit-down…

9 Things You Need for Tonsil and Adenoid Recovery
WOWZA!! What a rollercoaster ride of 10 days from Hudson’s recovery. Recovery from what? Let me catch you up, friends. Since Hudson was born, he has struggled with congestion. This is not uncommon with a Down syndrome diagnosis. Since he is anatomically smaller, it’s harder for fluid to drain. In fact, in the hospital when Hudson was born, he failed his left hearing test due to fluid. So we’ve been working with Hudson’s Ear Nose Throat (ENT) doctor since he was born. It’s been a back and forth process…..let the fluid drain itself, put in an eustachian tube, etc. I could go into this a lot more (and if you…

Marriage Retreat
Welp – we are heading out of town…going getaway with this guy. A special time just the two of us to attend a retreat and keep the focus and priority on our marriage. I think there can be a stigma talking about working through relationships – but let’s remove that. None of us are perfect….we are ALL works in progress. We are thrilled to work on how to be a better spouse to one another and how to best guide and lead our family together. Looking forward to time just the two of us and headed into 2020 with the tools and support we need to dominate this year as…

Tip for Getting the Best Christmas Books
If you have been a Moonbeam follower for a while, you will know that I love holiday books. Loveeeee. ⠀⠀But Hollyce – how can you afford all of those amazing Christmas books? They can be so expensive!⠀⠀Well, dear friend, I borrow them from the library. Tax dollars at work people!⠀⠀TIP: go get your Christmas books NOW! When everyone else remembers in 1-2 weeks, the pickings are slim. ⠀⠀PRO TIP: I put a calendar appointment on November 18th every year to get Christmas books. Then I’ll never forget. Yes….I’m that mom. ⠀⠀I’ll work on a more formal post of my favorites so you have it in time for Christmas. I tried…

A Walk Down ‘Frozen’ Memory Lane: The Reasons I Love This Franchise
Anna, Elsa, and Olaf hold a very special place in my heart. Why? Well when I was 25, I met two young children named Tyler & Emily. I had been around kids plenty and loved them….but there was added pressure at this meeting…they were the children of my boyfriend at the time. I so desperately wanted them to like me! One of the first dates we went on as a family was to see this amazing, winter-themed, animated block-buster smash from Disney…a little film called “Frozen.” As we walked out of the theater holding hands and singing ‘Let It Go’ – I breathed a sigh of gratitude (and some relief)…
