CRAFT: Hidden Animal Sensory Activity

Okay….that title is totally misleading. To be clear, I am NOT crafty. You would think I might be since I am a creative; however, when it comes to activities and sensory bins for my toddler, I strongly dislike this type of pursuit. However, desperate times call for desperate measures and I am guessing there are a lot of other parents like me…. you want to do the craft, but you can’t stand it.

Well here is any easy one for YOU if you are like me.

I’ve formally titled it…Hiding Animals with Rice in a Muffin Tin With a Scoop 🙂

You will need:

  • Rice in a bin/storage container
  • Scoop (or measuring cup)
  • Small toy animals (or any small object could work)
  • Muffin tin

Directions:

  1. Start by having your toddler place each animal into an individual tin. You can practice sounds and naming the animals as you do this.
  2. Have your toddler help open the rice container and practice pouring the rice to hide each animal.
  3. Oh no! Where did they go?
  4. Help your toddler uncover each animal and put it back in its container. Your little one should also assist with the clean-up.

That’s it. Easy, right?
