22 Fall Bucket List Ideas for Families

It’s officially the first day of fall – hooray!

I can already taste the spiced cider, smell the cloves and orange mulling on the stove, hear the crunch of leaves as they fall on the grown, and feel the soft and cozy infinity scarf around my neck.

Yep…I’m ready for you, fall.

But what happens when the rest of your family doesn’t obsess over this new season like you do? How do you get them on board?

Simple my friends. Simple.

May I present to you….the 2019 Fall Bucket List. (hooray….cheers…applause…wahooooo)

I thought of my favorite activities that help get me into the fall spirit (including the basics I listed above) and added a few for fun.

Things I’m most excited to try on this bucket list:

FIRE CIDER – ever heard of it? Neither had I until doing research for what I wanted to include on this bucket list. There are crazy health benefits and it’s supposed to be fairly tasty. I’ll likely be using this recipe as I’ve been following EBF this summer and love her site! *MAJOR HEADS UP – this should be one of the first things you do on the bucket list as Fire Cider takes FOUR WEEKS to make. Yes, you heard me correctly. But then you will have it just in time for cold/flu season. Or you can buy your own that’s already premade and will be at your door in 48 hours if you are a Prime member.

APPLE SPICED PLAYDOUGH – Hudson is just getting to the play dough stage…so this will be a great first attempt at playdough with him. He tends to put EV.ERY.THING. in his mouth…so knowing that I’ll be using non-toxic, homemade dough also has this mommy’s approval. Not sure on which “recipe” I’ll be using yet but I’m sure there are a million on Pinterest.

NEIGHBORHOOD SIDEWALK CHALK – the kids and I used to love creating sidewalk chalk. We live in a subdivision with lots of families with young children. I want to create something with my kiddos that will bring others joy – plus it’s perfect for those fall afternoons when you want to be outside soaking in those last few times of sunshine before the snow hits.

FAMILY AFTERNOON NAP – our family is crazy busy y’all. Seriously, my head spins just thinking about our schedule on the weekend. We need a NAP. About a month ago, our a/c went out for 2 days so the 5 of us slept in the basement to keep cool. It was a giant slumber party! I want to recreate this and do a giant family nap. Now my teenage kids may not be down for the whole “let’s have a slumber party when we don’t have to” idea….so if that’s not your jam, no worries! Everyone go to their own rooms….draw the blinds, turn up the sound machine, cuddle under the blanket and take a NAP. You can thank me later for “forcing” you to do this one.

And so many others on the list! Some of them are things you are likely already going to do with a twist….like carving pumpkins…but while you watch Ghostbusters. Eat caramel apples…but watch It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Make your home smell like fall…but with stove potpourri (or a candle….don’t make it too complicated).

HOW TO MAKE THIS WORK FOR YOU

Per Kelle Hampton of ETST’s idea (and she has an amazing bucket list as well for the fall…check hers out here), we print our bucket lists out to 16×20 and frame them in the kitchen. This way we see it EVERY SINGLE DAY. We live and breathe this list for the season. I love looking at it – makes me so happy.

Make this list work for you…whether you save it to your phone for ideas on the weekend or you are going line by line to complete this puppy….I hope this serves as some fall spirit and gets you ready for this delightful season! If you enjoy it, please share it with your friends and family – tell them how awesome this website is and that it is a FREE printable…just for you being totally rad.

Happy Fall y’all!
