Five Friday Favorites – March 9

Happy Friday! The weekend is almost here. The past two Fridays have been pretty crazy with Hudson’s hearing test and David’s kidney stone surgery. I’m looking forward to a “regular” Friday and a fun weekend with the kids.

This weekend is going to be busy! Ready for this?

  • Emily has a soccer game tonight (her last indoor game of the season with her travel team)
  • Tyler has a Bat Mitzvah service tomorrow morning
  • I teach Stroller Strides (pending that this voice finally comes back)
  • Emily is going to see A Wrinkle in Time with a friend
  • Tyler has soccer practice
  • Emily has two indoor soccer games
  • Tyler is going to a Bat Mitzvah party
  • Sunday morning is church
  • Sunday afternoon is the Chicago Wolves game to watch Emily’s orchestra perform
  • Sunday evening homework and dinner at home

Phew – I’m exhausted just typing about it 🙂

Now for the Five Friday Favorites…

1. Ugly Delicious on Netflix

David and I just started watching Ugly Delicious this week and we love it! Ugly Delicious is hosted by celebrity chef David Chang. In each episode, he focuses on a different type of food (think pizza, tacos, home cooking) and the various methods, history, and varieties of each. This isn’t a kid friendly show (strong language) so watch this one after you tuck the little ones in – but don’t watch it while you are hungry!

2. Trader Joe’s Turkey Chili & Cornbread Crisps

Holy Turkey – this canned chili is so tasty. Easy to heat up, high in protein and full of flavor! Make sure you grab the Cornbread Crisps in the chip aisle. These crisps taste exactly like cornbread but have a great texture to crumble in chili or to scoop it up. This has been a great lunch for us during these cold winter days. Links attached to Amazon but of course you can these items at your local TJs!

3. Hudson’s New Haircut

Yep – our boy got his first haircut and the hairstylist? You may have heard of him – my husband David. We set Hudson up on bathroom counter, grabbed a pair of scissors and started snipping! I’m very impressed with David’s haircutting skills and Hudson looks so grown up with a little trim.

4. Downy Fresh Protect In-Wash Scent Beads

Our laundry smells extra fresh and clean! All I do is pour half a lid of these pink dots in the washing machine and at the end, our clothes smell “happy.” Highly recommend! Click here to purchase.

5. Sephora Face Wipes in Charcoal

I have to admit that I haven’t tried any of the other types of wipes except Charcoal; however, I don’t think I’ll need to since I love the charcoal wipes so much! I’m a big advocate of washing your face every morning and every night, but with 3 kiddos, a traveling husband and a full schedule, sometimes that doesn’t happen. Cue these wipes! The exfoliating side is rough but feels like it’s getting the “grime” of the day off, and the soft side is gentle for my eyes. I’m not an affiliate of Sephora’s – just love these wipes!

That wraps up this week! Any fun weekend plans? Have you tried any of these products?
