After posting on Instagram stories yesterday about two of my new favorite books for Hudson, I wanted to share some additional books if you are wanting to buy your kiddos Christmas books to add to their collections. Click on any of the book covers to be taken directly to Amazon for purchase (affiliate links won’t cost you anything but can help us earn a little dough)!
- You Are Special by Max Lucado
This story brought me to tears! It’s not necessarily a Christmas book but has a Christian message worth reading all year long.
2. The Tale of Three Trees retold by Angela Elwell Hunt
Another book that isn’t necessarily Christmas themed as much as it is Christ centered.
3. Mortimer’s Christmas Manger by Karma Wilson
Mortimer is looking for a warm home and finds a way to share in Jesus’ birth in a manger.
4. Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree by Robert Barry
A sweet story about how a Christmas tree top gets passed down from family to family.
5. The Legend of the Poinsettia by Tomie dePaola
This Mexican legend tells of how a little girl’s gift to Jesus results in the Christmas plant we are all familiar with 🙂
6. Red and Lulu by Matt Tavares
Two cardinals live in a gorgeous tree that ends up in Rockefeller Center as the gorgeous Christmas tree we all love. It’s fun to see the iconic tree in a children’s picture book.
7. Construction Site on Christmas Night by Sherri Duskey Rinker
It’s similar to the classic Goodnight Goodnight Construction site by this author but with a fun holiday twist. While the trucks are building a fire station, they each receive needed and festive gifts.
8. The Christmas Baby by Marion Dane Bauer
Available in a board book (thank goodness) and tells the Christmas birth story….a baby is coming!
9. The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg
A classic Christmas book! Longer than some of the others suggested but can break it up across multiple readings if baby falls asleep while reading.
10. The Sweet Smell of Christmas by Patricia M. Scarry
This is one of my all time favorite books from my childhood. I loved the scratch and sniff as a girl. And this book is the reason I still have an orange in my stocking every Christmas morning 🙂
11. Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner
A fun imagining of what our snowmen do while we are sleeping!
I hope you all enjoy this list! It’s not too late to order from Amazon for Christmas delivery. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Love,
Hollyce
